Kate is an experienced expert witness, having been personally involved in more than 200 matters.  She acts for claimants, defendants and as a single joint expert, and has prepared many expert accountants’ reports, working with solicitors, clients and Counsel as required. Kate frequently comments on other experts’ reports and attends experts’ meetings, mediations and Court hearings. She often provides general commercial advice and preliminary assessments of quantum in advance of a formal dispute. Kate’s workload predominantly comprises commercial and matrimonial disputes with her experience  encompassing the following:

Kate acts in cases involving individuals, owner managed businesses, partnerships, franchises and large multi-national companies operating across many industry sectors.

Court Attendance

Kate has given evidence under cross-examination in the County Court, High Court and at arbitration.

Career History

Kate trained with Deloitte’s Audit and Assurance practice. She then spent 11 years in the Deloitte Forensic & Dispute Services Group, becoming a Director in 2006. Kate joined Roffe Swayne in 2011 and is the partner responsible for the firm’s forensic work.

Publications and Speaking Appearances

Kate regularly delivers seminars to regional and national conferences of both solicitors and accountants, addressing topics such as business valuations, completion accounts disputes and the commercial and tax implications of settling disputes. Kate is a contributing author of Forensic Accounting & Finance: Principles & Practice.
