Helen has been acting as an expert witness since 2006 and is regularly appointed as a single joint expert, party appointed expert or as a party appointed adviser.  Her principal areas of work include:

  • Confiscations under the Proceeds of Crime Act

  • Commercial agency claims
  • Expert determinations appointed under the terms of the company’s articles of association and under the terms of the ICAEW’s president’s appointment scheme
  • Matrimonial matters

  • Professional negligence
  • Shareholder and partnership disputes
  • Theft, fraud and financial investigations
  • Warranty disputes

Helen regularly delivers presentations on a range of forensic topics to law firms and organisations including law societies and Resolution.

Court attendances

Helen has attended court on a regular basis since 2006 giving oral evidence in criminal, family and civil matters.  She has also given oral evidence at arbitration, mediation and various tribunals.

Career history

Helen qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1995 with the audit department of a top 14 firm in London.  On qualification she moved to one of the top four firms before transferring to the forensic team in 1998.  During her time in London, she was seconded to the United Nations Compensation Commission, Serious Fraud Office, National Crime Agency and (what was) the Department of Trade and Industry.

She moved to the South-West and joined Milsted Langdon in 2012. Helen is the current Chair of NIFA.
