Insolvency Service – Criminal Investigations

This was a criminal investigation undertaken by the Insolvency Service into a company that provided courier and delivery services for a number of organisations including Amazon. The company had a confidential invoice discounting facility with Bibby. It is alleged that the company over-inflated and/or under- inflated the invoices it submitted to Bibby to obtain advances that it was not entitled to receive. Bibby calculated the amounts fraudulently obtained to be £1.3 million, the Insolvency Service calculated the amounts to be £980k. We were asked to quantify the amounts fraudulently obtained from the evidence provided.
