Confiscation: Assessment of Benefit & Available Amount

The Defendant was identified as a customer of an OCG supplying Class A drugs throughout NW England. He was subsequently found guilty of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and was sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role. We were instructed on this matter in March 2018, however our assessment of the Defendant’s Benefit and Available Amount could not be concluded as there was a separate investigation being conducted by HMRC into a multi-million landfill tax fraud. The Defendant was a director and shareholder of a number of companies subject of HMRC’s investigation.
