NIFA member wins £1m reduction in valuation of husband's company
Following a valuation of the husband's company by a Single Joint Expert, solicitors acting for the husband considered that the SJE had significantly overstated the value of the company and had not taken into account a number of fundamental factors. The SJE valued the company in the region of £2 million.
An application was made to obtain further expert evidence regarding the value of the company, due to the substantial differences between the SJE and advice given to the husband's solicitors. A NIFA member was appointed and arrived at a valuation of less than £1 million. Following a meeting between the SJE and our NIFA expert, they agreed that the value of the company was less than £1 million.
